How thick is your glass? Is it shatter-proof?

Stone & Cabinet Outlet's standard shower glass is 3/8"- thick tempered glass. The tempering process makes the glass very strong and durable. While it is not completely shatter-proof, if our glass breaks, it shatters into small cubes instead of large jagged pieces, making it much safer and easier to clean up the shards.

Our glass also comes pre-coated with EnduroShield to make it more resistent to dirt, grime, and soap scum, making it much easier to clean and maintain.

Are you shower doors and glass frameless?

Yes, all of Stone & Cabinet Outlet's glass shower doors and panels are frameless.

We prefer offering frameless glass doors and panels because they add a nice, modern aesthetic to our customers' bathrooms that looks good in any environment, allows for more natural light, and highlights tile work and stone shower surrounds in the background.

Frameless doors and glass are also easier to clean, because there are less crevices and cracks to trap dirt and grime.

How can I clean hard water stains, soap scum, dirt, and grime off my shower glass?

Accepted Answer

One of the most important aspects of keeping your shower clean is making sure your glass is coated with a water-repellent coating like EnduroShield or a similar product.

At Stone & Cabinet Outlet, all of our glass shower doors and panels come pre-coated with EnduroShield, which protects them against, dirt, grime, soap scum, and hard water stains, making your shower glass much easier to clean and maintain.

For regular cleaning and maintenance, we recommend using a squeegee to wipe away water after showering, then using a microfiber cloth to dry the corners and edges.

For dirty glass, we recommend mixing up a solution of equal parts distilled white vinegar and water. Add a drop or two of dish soap for anti-bacterial properties, and use this to wipe down your glass.

DO NOT use this method if your shower surround or tiling is made from marble or another material that will be damaged by acidic solutions like vinegar.

It also okay to use shower-specific cleaning products.

Finally, if hard water stains are persistent, you can consider installing a water-softening system for your home.
